On the other hand, it has been pointed out that the relation between the z1 timeseries and the secular trend of earth rotation (length of day) displays the pitchfork type bifurcation with spin-down of the earth rotation (Toriumi 2022). For LOD rate decreases continuously from 2018 to 2023, that means spin-up of earth rotation, it seems that the z1 of the recent timeseries after 2020 decreases with the time advancement. However, the z1 component keeps the high level as shown in Fig. 4.5, thereby suggesting that the mode of bifurcation above has more complicated features involving other controlling parameters.
